Salot Privacy Policy — How We Handle Your Personal Information

At Salot, your personal data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what information we collect when you use our platform, why we need it, how it is stored securely, and what rights you have over it. We have written this in plain language so you do not need a legal background to understand it. If anything is unclear, our support team is available 24/7.

1. What Personal Data Salot Collects

When you use the Salot platform — whether you are browsing, registering, depositing or playing — we collect certain types of personal information. We keep this to the minimum genuinely required to deliver a safe, functional and compliant service. Here is a breakdown of the main categories:

Account Registration Data

When you create a Salot account, we collect the information you provide during the registration process:

  • Full name as it appears on your official identity document
  • Date of birth (to verify you are 18 or older)
  • Mobile number (used for OTP verification and account communications)
  • Email address (used for account notifications and support correspondence)
  • Username or display name of your choice

Identity Verification (KYC) Data

As part of our legal obligations around Know Your Customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance, we may request:

  • A copy of your CNIC (Computerised National Identity Card) or passport
  • A recent utility bill or bank statement confirming your address
  • A selfie or live photo for identity confirmation in some cases

These documents are submitted and stored within the Salot secure platform. They are used solely for identity verification and fraud prevention. They are not used for marketing purposes.

Transactional Data

Every deposit, withdrawal and wager on Salot generates a transaction record. This includes the amount, timestamp, payment method reference, game or market involved, and the outcome. This data is essential for account management, dispute resolution and financial audit purposes.

Device and Technical Data

When you access Salot, our systems automatically collect basic technical information:

  • IP address
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser type and version
  • Session timestamps and duration
  • Pages or game sections visited within the platform

This data is used for security monitoring, fraud detection and platform performance optimisation. It is not linked to your personal profile for marketing profiling without your consent.

2. How Salot Collects Your Information

Salot collects personal data through three primary channels:

1

Directly from you

Information you enter during registration, KYC submission, deposit forms, support conversations and preference settings is collected directly. You are in control of what you share and when.

2

Automatically through platform use

Device data, session logs, IP addresses and cookies are collected automatically when you visit or use the Salot platform. This happens whether or not you are logged in, though logged-in activity is linked to your account.

3

From payment processors and verification services

When you deposit via Easypaisa, JazzCash, NayaPay or a bank transfer, our payment integration receives transaction confirmation data — including payment reference numbers and amounts — from those services. We do not receive your full wallet PIN or bank credentials; the payment processor handles authentication on their own secure infrastructure.

3. Why Salot Uses Your Personal Data

Every piece of data Salot collects has a specific, legitimate purpose. We do not collect data speculatively or for purposes we cannot clearly justify. The table below maps each data category to its primary use:

Data Type Primary Purpose Legal Basis
Name, DOB, contact details Account creation and age verification Contract fulfilment
CNIC / passport copy KYC compliance, AML obligations Legal obligation
Transaction records Account management, dispute resolution, financial audit Contract + Legal obligation
Device and IP data Fraud detection, security monitoring Legitimate interest
Gaming activity logs Responsible gaming monitoring, dispute resolution Legitimate interest + Legal obligation
Email and mobile number Account notifications, support, optional marketing Contract + Consent (for marketing)

Salot does not use your personal data for automated decision-making that would legally or significantly affect you without human review. Fraud flags generated by automated systems are always reviewed by a member of the Salot compliance team before any account action is taken.

4. Payment Data and Financial Information

Salot processes all transactions in Pakistani Rupees (PKR) through local payment channels. The way we handle payment data depends on which method you use.

Mobile Wallets (Easypaisa, JazzCash, NayaPay, SadaPay)

When you deposit or withdraw via a mobile wallet, you authenticate the transaction directly within the wallet provider's own interface. Salot receives a transaction confirmation containing the reference number, amount and timestamp. We do not receive your wallet PIN, OTP codes or full account credentials. Your wallet security is managed entirely by the respective provider.

Bank Transfers (IBFT)

For IBFT deposits, Salot receives confirmation from our banking partner once the transfer clears. The sending account name and reference are recorded to match the deposit to your Salot account and to confirm the funds originate from a verified account in your own name — a requirement of our fraud prevention policy.

Card Payments (Visa / Mastercard)

Card payments are processed through a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. Salot does not store full card numbers, CVV codes or card expiry dates on our own infrastructure. Tokenised card references may be stored to facilitate future transactions where you have given explicit consent to save the card.

Important: All payment methods used on Salot must be registered in your own name. Deposits from third-party accounts — whether a family member's wallet or a colleague's bank account — are not accepted and will be returned. This is a strict anti-money laundering requirement, not a policy we can make exceptions to.

5. Sharing Your Data — Who Sees It and Why

Salot does not sell your personal data to any third party. Full stop. We do not run advertising data programmes, we do not share behavioural profiles with marketers, and we do not participate in data broker networks. Your information stays within the Salot ecosystem except in the limited circumstances described below.

Service Providers

Salot works with carefully selected third-party service providers who help us deliver the platform. These include:

  • Payment processors: To authorise and confirm deposits and withdrawals. They receive only the data necessary to process the specific transaction.
  • Identity verification services: To validate KYC documents when you submit them. These services are bound by their own strict data handling obligations.
  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers: Who store Salot's platform data in secure, encrypted data centres. They do not have access to individual player records in readable form.
  • Fraud detection services: Which analyse transaction and device patterns to identify suspicious activity. Data shared with these services is pseudonymised where possible.

All third-party service providers engaged by Salot are contractually bound to use your data only for the specific purpose for which it was shared, and to maintain appropriate security standards.

Legal and Regulatory Authorities

Salot may be legally required to share information with regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies or courts in response to a valid legal request, warrant or court order. We will inform you of any such disclosure where we are legally permitted to do so. We do not voluntarily provide data to government bodies beyond what is legally mandated.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Salot uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to make the platform function correctly and to improve your experience. Here is how we categorise them:

Essential Cookies

These are required for the platform to work. They manage your login session, remember your language preference and ensure that your account remains securely authenticated during a session. You cannot opt out of essential cookies and continue using Salot — they are a technical requirement of the platform.

Performance Cookies

These collect anonymised data about how different pages and features are used — which game types are most visited, where users spend the most time, and where technical errors occur. This data helps us improve the platform. It is not linked to your personal account identity.

Preference Cookies

If you have made specific settings — such as choosing your preferred game lobby view or notification preferences — preference cookies store those choices so you do not have to reset them on every visit.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling performance or preference cookies will not prevent you from using Salot, but it may affect some personalisation features. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in.

7. How Long Salot Keeps Your Data

Salot retains personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by applicable law. The key retention periods are:

  • Active account data (name, contact details, preferences): Retained for the full duration of your account and deleted within 90 days of a confirmed account closure request, unless a legal hold applies.
  • KYC documents (CNIC copies, identity verification): Retained for a minimum of 5 years from the date of submission, in line with anti-money laundering regulations. After this period they are securely deleted.
  • Transaction records (deposits, withdrawals, bets): Retained for a minimum of 5 years for financial audit and legal compliance purposes.
  • Support correspondence: Retained for 2 years after the conversation is closed, then deleted unless the conversation is linked to an ongoing investigation.
  • Device and session logs: Retained for 12 months, then deleted automatically.

Where a legal investigation, dispute or regulatory inquiry is ongoing, data related to that matter may be retained beyond the standard periods above until the matter is fully resolved. We will inform you of any extended retention where we are permitted to do so.

8. How Salot Secures Your Personal Data

Data security is not an afterthought at Salot — it is a core engineering and operational priority. The following measures are in place to protect your information:

  • TLS/SSL encryption: All data transmitted between your device and the Salot platform is encrypted using current Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols. This means your login credentials, payment details and personal information cannot be intercepted in transit.
  • Hashed password storage: Your account password is never stored in plain text. It is cryptographically hashed using a one-way algorithm, meaning even Salot's own staff cannot read your password.
  • Two-factor authentication (2FA): Available to all players and strongly recommended. 2FA adds a second verification step beyond your password, making unauthorised account access significantly harder even if your password is compromised.
  • Access controls: Salot staff access to player data is role-restricted. Only team members with a genuine operational need — such as the KYC compliance team or fraud investigators — can access personal account records. All staff access is logged and audited.
  • Anomaly detection: Our security infrastructure monitors login patterns, device changes and transaction behaviours in real time. Unusual activity triggers alerts that are reviewed by the fraud prevention team.
  • Regular security audits: The Salot platform is subject to regular security assessments to identify and remediate vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.

If you suspect your Salot account has been accessed without your authorisation, contact our support team immediately via live chat. We will freeze the account for review, investigate the incident and advise on next steps.

9. Your Data Rights as a Salot Player

You have meaningful rights over the personal data that Salot holds about you. These are not just legal formalities — they are rights we actively support and facilitate through our support process.

Right to Access

Request a full copy of the personal data Salot holds about you. We will provide this in a readable format within 30 days of your request.

Right to Rectification

If any personal information we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request a correction. Contact support with the correct details and supporting documentation.

Right to Erasure

Request deletion of your personal data. Note that certain data — particularly KYC and transaction records — must be retained under AML regulations regardless of this request.

Right to Restrict Processing

Request that we limit how we use your data while a dispute or investigation is ongoing. We will confirm restricted processing in writing.

Right to Data Portability

Request your personal data in a machine-readable format so you can transfer it to another service. Applicable to data processed on the basis of your consent or a contract.

Right to Object

Object to Salot processing your data for direct marketing purposes at any time. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests where it affects your rights significantly.

To exercise any of these rights, contact the Salot Data team at support@salot.im or via live chat, clearly stating which right you wish to exercise and providing sufficient information to verify your identity. We aim to respond to all data rights requests within 30 days. Complex requests may take up to an additional 60 days, in which case we will notify you of the extension in advance.

10. Updates to This Privacy Policy

Salot reviews this Privacy Policy regularly and updates it when our data practices change or when applicable law requires it. Material changes — for example, changes to what data we collect, how we share it, or your rights — will be communicated to registered users by email at least 7 days before the updated policy takes effect.

Minor updates — such as clarifications, formatting changes or corrections that do not alter the substance of your rights — may be made without prior notice. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.

The current version of this Privacy Policy is always accessible at salot.im/privacy-policy. If you continue to use the Salot platform after an updated policy takes effect, that constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you disagree with any material change, you may request account closure before the change takes effect without penalty.

For any questions about this Privacy Policy, or to raise a privacy concern, contact us at support@salot.im or via live chat available 24 hours a day.

Why Pakistani Players Trust Salot With Their Data

Concrete measures — not vague assurances — that protect your information on the Salot platform.

TLS Encryption on Every Request

Every interaction with Salot — login, deposit, game play, support chat — travels over an encrypted connection. Your data cannot be intercepted in transit by third parties, including your ISP or mobile carrier.

No Data Sold, Ever

Salot does not operate an advertising data business. Your profile, betting habits, device identifiers and contact details are never sold to data brokers, advertisers or any other commercial third party. This is a fundamental commitment, not a conditional policy.

Role-Based Staff Access Controls

Not every Salot employee can see your account data. Access to personal records is restricted to team members with a specific operational need — KYC reviewers, fraud analysts, support agents handling your ticket. All access is logged.

Pakistan-Appropriate Payment Security

Salot integrates with Easypaisa, JazzCash and local banks through their own secure authentication flows. We never receive your wallet PIN or banking password. Your financial credentials stay with your financial provider.

Regular Security Audits

The Salot platform undergoes periodic security assessments conducted by independent specialists. Vulnerabilities identified during these reviews are prioritised and remediated before public disclosure where possible.

Exercisable Data Rights

Your rights to access, correct, delete or port your Salot data are real and actionable. Submit a request via email or live chat and receive a response within 30 days. Our support team handles these requests directly — no automated brush-offs.

Privacy Questions — Common Concerns from Pakistani Players

Things users regularly ask about how Salot handles personal data.

Salot does not share your information with government agencies voluntarily or automatically. The only circumstances under which we would share data with a government body or law enforcement agency are in response to a valid legal request, court order or regulatory requirement. We do not participate in voluntary data-sharing programmes with any state authority. Where we receive a legal request for your data and are permitted to notify you, we will do so.

Yes — you can submit a data deletion request after your account is closed. However, please note that certain categories of data must be retained under anti-money laundering and financial regulations regardless of your request. Specifically, KYC documents and full transaction records must be kept for a minimum of 5 years. All other personal data — your profile, preferences, contact history — will be deleted within 90 days of your account closure being confirmed. You will receive written confirmation when the deletion is complete.

Salot may use your platform activity — such as which game categories you play most — to personalise promotional communications if you have opted in to marketing emails or push notifications. This personalisation happens within the Salot platform only and does not involve sharing your data with external marketers. You can opt out of all marketing communications at any time through your account notification settings or by contacting support. Opting out will not affect your account or your access to any features.

Identity documents submitted for KYC verification are stored in an encrypted, access-restricted document vault within the Salot secure infrastructure. Access to this vault is limited to the KYC compliance team members actively reviewing your verification request. Documents are not stored alongside your general account data and are not accessible to general platform staff. After the regulatory retention period expires (5 years from submission), documents are permanently and securely deleted from the vault. You will receive a notification email confirming your KYC submission was received and processed.
